All you ever wanted to know about Lookin’ for Trouble’s talented bass player (and more.)

David May began playing guitar and bass at the age of seven after watching the Beatles on Ed Sullivan.  Nine-year-old David joined his first professional band and toured, playing private parties at universities in Southern California. By the time he entered high school, he was already grooved into the life of a musician. He played in cover bands, singing and playing bass, and began writing original songs. After high school David studied Music at the College of Idaho and Boise State University, and attended Sound masters School of audio Engineering. While in college he also toured the North West United States, playing in two t-40 bands.

After college David played with the Terry Gregory Band on Columbia/Sony/Handshake Records on 3 US tours, toured Europe with Sony International Records artist Mosha Noy, and played bass with Buckeye on Polydor Records. David has also performed or recorded with Allan Clark, Berlin, Belinda Carlisle, the Everly Brothers, Jan and Dean, Plimsouls, Rick Nelson, Steve Allen (20/20), and has had his original songs placed on television shows such as Cold CaseSaving GraceBrothers and SistersCMT/Billy Ray CyrusBeyond the BreakMTV/CuesFelicity, and The Vineyard.

In the 1970’s David worked at Pasha studios becoming a tracking and mix engineer. He began freelancing at Pasha and other studios in 1979 between touring and studio work. David’s love for music and music production led him to start producing live concerts and MTV promo videos in 1987, full-time in the Warner Records/Rhino Ent. A&R & Video Department, and he has continued his work in this field for the remainder of his career. His current projects include: Led Zeppelin Celebration DAY Blu Ray & DVD, Eagles Farewell Melbourne Blu Ray, Stevie Nicks In Your Dreams Film/ Blu Ray DVD, Crossroads 2013 Blu Ray DVD, Eric Clapton Unplugged DVD Reissue, Fleetwood Mac Rumors Reissue Bonus audio tracks and DVD, Emeli Sande’ Blu ray and Green Day Cuatro DVD.

In 2011, while serving time for an unfortunate streaking incident (up for appeal he still claims his innocence) he had time to think. He realized he missed being in a band. He wanted to work with musicians focused on being a great band, whether they were playing covers or originals. It had to be a  band that had a love for the Blues and Rock & Roll, people who appreciated the Beatles, Motown and the Cowsil’s . Soon thereafter he began searching for such a band, auditioned for Lookin’ for Trouble, and was asked to join the band. It’s worked out far better than he ever expected, and pending sentencing (it’s a joke mom) he plans to make a lot more music with his band “family.”
